The Contented Angler Pa Fishing

07/20/09 - We were blessed with great weather and good
stream conditions as we visited Yellow Creek in Bedford
Co. The stream had good flow and the trout were not the
least bit stressed. Prior to a monster hatch of either Blue
Quills or BWO's the ant produced well. We probably
witnessed 20 - 30 trout chasing nymphs and emergers to
the surface throughout the hatch. As the hatch subsided, I
took 3 more fish on a #18 Adams. It was classic dry fly
fishing on a classic stream.
Benches along the popular pools, a clean environment and a
nice parking lot are all made possible by the "Yellow Creek
Coalition". Please visit them HERE.
"A good flow of cool water and hungry trout that aren't stressed is all one can
ask for at the end of july in PA."
